CORE VALUES
Igniting Curiosity“Education is a natural process carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment.”
Self-Reliance“These words reflect the child's inner needs: Help me
do it alone.”
Holistic Diversity“The needs of mankind are universal. Our means of meeting them
create richness and diversity of the planet. The Montessori child
should come to relish the texture of that diversity.”
Inclusive Community“We should walk together on this path of life, for all things are
part of the universe and are connected with each other to form
one whole unity.”
Respect for Self and Others“If we are among the men of good will who yearn for peace, we
must lay the foundation for peace ourselves, by working for the
social world of the child.”
PHILOSOPHY
This is at the heart of Montessori Philosophy, fostering development through exploration with all senses. We structure our classrooms to instil children with an appreciation for cleanliness and clarity. We also meticulously designed the interior space to facilitate freedom of movement, and selected a multitude of self- correcting materials to allow freedom of choice.
We focus on the process, not the results. The role of a Montessori educator is to observe and encourage children to develop the skills of independence, self-regulation, impulse control, and critical thinking, leading to a harmonious classroom environment. Each child’s needs and interests are respected.
The children are guided by respect for the educator, for the work of others and respect for the materials themselves.
Through geography, history, world cultures and peace education, children gain a basic global perspective which leads towards understanding and peace.
Children learn that we, as humans, are the custodians of the earth and have responsibility for an environment that sustains life.
